What is Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is one of the most powerful tools for change to date !!!

Hypnosis is a natural method of lulling the conscious mind in order to reach the subconscious and bring about change. When the most powerful change mechanism you have - your  subconscious - is spoken to directly, old patterns and conditioning can be reprogrammed and new ideas and positive suggestions can be introduced. These positive suggestions can then be used to help make the changes you desire.

Why use Hypnosis?

You Conscious Mind doesn't like change and as one of it's functions it has to maintain homeostasis (keep everything as it is). If your Conscious Mind is maintaining homeostasis then do you really think you can change??

Of course not!!

Your Conscious Mind doesn't want it to happen!! Change is anathema to your Conscious Mind.

Change occurs in the Subconscious Mind and Hypnosis allows your Hypnotherapist to access your most Fertile Change Agent - your Subconscious Mind !!! . By helping you to relax your Conscious Mind to the point that your Subconscious Mind can take over, change can occur. Your Subconscious mind is like a child, always open and ready to play and to experience change. Change is your Subconscious Mind's best friend.

If you have tried to make dramatic life changes in a conscious state (and therefore operating in your Conscious Mind), and failed....are you really that surprised?

So, if you want to change habits or work on any problems you have, consult one of the hypnotherapists at Pendle Natural Healing Centre. However, be sure that you want to change - because Change you Will!!

What is a hypnotherapy session like?

The hypnotherapist acts as a guide to help you make the changes you have decided to make. Your conscious mind will be guided to a state of deep relaxation – similar to daydreaming.  To induce this state of relaxation the hypnotherapist may use various techniques such as deep breathing, muscle relaxation, counting techniques or imagery.

From there the hypnotherapist can use numerous methods to teach your subconscious new ideas and patterning. Common methods include visualization, guided imagery and suggestions. At times you may listen and participate silently as the hypnotherapist guides you. Other times you may be a more “active” participant, answering questions and giving feedback to the hypnotherapist.

When the proper suggestions and imagery have been completed, you will be gently emerged. Most often people feel rested, relaxed and refreshed after a hypnosis session.
